Vows That Last is written and made by Mathias Huysmans, and sold by The Awkward Photographer, his business in Belgium.

One purchase is for one couple. You get the book Vows That Last as a PDF, and access to the Vows That Last card game, which you play in a web browser on a phone at play.getvowsthatlast.com. Both partners can sign in with their own email address. Everything is digital. Nothing is shipped.
The card game is available in English and in Dutch. The book is in English.
You can also buy Vows That Last as a gift, on its own or as a gift copy added to your own order. See “Gifts” below.
Prices are in euros and include VAT where it applies. The early-bird price of €29 applies to the first 100 orders. After that, the price is €39. A gift copy added to your own order costs the same as one game: €29 at the early-bird price, then €39. The price you pay is the one on the order page when you order.
You pay on Stripe’s secure payment page, with card, Apple Pay, Google Pay, Bancontact or iDEAL. We never see your card details. Stripe emails you a receipt.
Right after payment you get an email with a link to the book and a sign-in link for the card game. It usually arrives within a minute or two. If it doesn’t, check your spam folder, ask for a new sign-in link at play.getvowsthatlast.com, or write to us.
As a consumer in the EU you normally have 14 days to change your mind about something you buy online. For digital content that is delivered straight away, that right ends once delivery has started, if you agreed to that beforehand.
When you order, you ask us to deliver the book and the game right away and you confirm that you know your right of withdrawal ends once they are delivered. We confirm this in the email that delivers your order. The first-vow guarantee below still applies.
Read the book and complete its first-vow exercise. If you don’t end up with at least one promise you’d be proud to say on your wedding day, email [email protected] within 30 days of your purchase (for a gift: within 30 days of claiming it) and we refund the full price. For a gift, the refund goes to the person who paid. No hard feelings. After a refund, access to the card game ends, except for a gift that was claimed: then the couple keeps their access.
When you buy a gift, you get a gift code and a gift link by email, and a gift card to print. You write the couple’s names and your message on the card yourself; we don’t ask for them or store them. The couple who uses the code first gets the book and the card game for the two of them, exactly as if they had bought it. You don’t get access to their game, their answers or their vows.
A gift code doesn’t expire. It can be used once.
When the couple opens the gift, we send you one short email to say so, with no other details.
Changed your mind? As long as the gift hasn’t been claimed, write to us and we refund it in full; the code then stops working. Once it’s claimed, the couple’s first-vow guarantee applies. If a claimed gift is refunded, the money goes back to you and the couple keeps their access.
Your answers save to your account as you play, so you can carry on on another phone. You can download your vow notes at any time. If we ever stop offering the game, we’ll tell you at least 30 days ahead so you can download them.
The book and the game are for your own use as a couple. Please don’t share the files or your sign-in with others. The text and design are © Mathias Huysmans. What you write is yours.
It’s a tool for writing vows. It isn’t therapy or counselling, and it can’t promise how your marriage will go. If your relationship involves fear or harm, please put your safety first and contact a local support service. In Belgium you can call 1712.
We do our best to keep the game online and working. Nothing in these terms limits the rights you have as a consumer under the law.
Write to [email protected]. We answer within five working days. If we can’t solve it together, you can contact the Belgian Consumer Mediation Service at consumentenombudsdienst.be.
Belgian law applies. If you live in another EU country, you keep the protection that the law of your country gives you.

The legal grounds are the contract with you (delivering what you bought), our legal duties (accounting), and, for ad measurement, your consent.
Some of these companies are based in the United States. Where your data leaves the EU, it’s protected by the EU’s standard contractual clauses or the EU–US Data Privacy Framework.
You can ask to see, correct, download or delete your data, object to how we use it, or withdraw your consent at any time. Write to [email protected]. If you’re not happy with how we handle your data, you can complain to the Belgian Data Protection Authority at dataprotectionauthority.be.

Eén aankoop is voor één stel. Je krijgt het boek Vows That Last als pdf, en toegang tot het kaartspel Vows That Last, dat je speelt in een webbrowser op een telefoon op play.getvowsthatlast.com. Beide partners kunnen inloggen met hun eigen e-mailadres. Alles is digitaal. Er wordt niets verzonden.
Het kaartspel is er in het Nederlands en in het Engels. Het boek is voorlopig alleen in het Engels. Zodra de Nederlandse versie klaar is, sturen we die gratis naar iedereen die Vows That Last kocht.
Je kunt Vows That Last ook als cadeau kopen, apart of als cadeau-exemplaar bij jouw eigen bestelling. Zie “Cadeaus” hieronder.
Prijzen zijn in euro en inclusief btw waar die van toepassing is. De introductieprijs van €29 geldt voor de eerste 100 bestellingen. Daarna is de prijs €39. Een cadeau-exemplaar bij jouw eigen bestelling kost evenveel als één spel: €29 aan de introductieprijs, daarna €39. Je betaalt de prijs die op de bestelpagina staat wanneer je bestelt.
Je betaalt op de beveiligde betaalpagina van Stripe, met kaart, Apple Pay, Google Pay, Bancontact of iDEAL. Wij zien jouw kaartgegevens nooit. Stripe mailt je een ontvangstbewijs.
Meteen na de betaling krijg je een e-mail met een link naar het boek en een inloglink voor het kaartspel. Die komt meestal binnen een paar minuten. Komt hij niet? Kijk dan in jouw spammap, vraag een nieuwe inloglink aan op play.getvowsthatlast.com, of schrijf ons.
Als consument in de EU heb je normaal 14 dagen om van een online aankoop af te zien. Voor digitale inhoud die meteen geleverd wordt, vervalt dat recht zodra de levering begonnen is, als je daar vooraf mee instemde.
Wanneer je bestelt, vraag je ons om het boek en het spel meteen te leveren, en bevestig je dat je weet dat jouw herroepingsrecht vervalt zodra ze geleverd zijn. We bevestigen dit in de e-mail waarmee we jouw bestelling leveren. De garantie op jouw eerste gelofte hieronder blijft gelden.
Lees het boek en doe de oefening voor jouw eerste gelofte. Heb je daarna geen enkele belofte waar je op jullie trouwdag trots op zou zijn? Mail dan binnen 30 dagen na jouw aankoop (bij een cadeau: binnen 30 dagen nadat het geopend is) naar [email protected] en we betalen de volledige prijs terug. Bij een cadeau gaat de terugbetaling naar wie betaalde. Zonder gedoe. Na een terugbetaling stopt de toegang tot het kaartspel, behalve bij een cadeau dat al geopend is: dan houdt het stel zijn toegang.
Als je een cadeau koopt, krijg je per e-mail een cadeaucode en een cadeaulink, en een cadeaukaart om af te drukken. De namen van het stel en jouw boodschap schrijf je zelf op de kaart; daar vragen we niet naar en we bewaren ze niet. Het stel dat de code als eerste gebruikt, krijgt het boek en het kaartspel voor hen samen, precies alsof ze het zelf hadden gekocht. Jij krijgt geen toegang tot hun spel, hun antwoorden of hun geloften.
Een cadeaucode vervalt niet. Hij kan één keer gebruikt worden.
Wanneer het stel het cadeau opent, sturen we je één korte e-mail om dat te laten weten, zonder verdere details.
Van gedachten veranderd? Zolang het cadeau niet geopend is, schrijf je ons en betalen we het volledig terug; de code werkt dan niet meer. Zodra het geopend is, geldt de garantie op de eerste gelofte van het stel. Wordt een geopend cadeau terugbetaald, dan gaat het geld naar jou en houdt het stel zijn toegang.
Jouw antwoorden worden tijdens het spelen in jouw account bewaard, zodat je op een andere telefoon verder kunt. Je kunt jullie notities op elk moment downloaden. Als we ooit stoppen met het spel, laten we je dat minstens 30 dagen op voorhand weten, zodat je ze kunt downloaden.
Het boek en het spel zijn voor jullie eigen gebruik als stel. Deel de bestanden of jouw login niet met anderen. De tekst en het ontwerp zijn © Mathias Huysmans. Wat jullie schrijven, is van jullie.
Het is een hulpmiddel om geloften te schrijven. Het is geen therapie of relatiebegeleiding, en het kan niets beloven over hoe jullie huwelijk zal lopen. Als er in jullie relatie angst of geweld speelt, zet dan jouw veiligheid voorop en neem contact op met een hulpdienst in jouw buurt. In België kun je bellen naar 1712, in Nederland naar Veilig Thuis op 0800-2000.
We doen ons best om het spel online en werkend te houden. Niets in deze voorwaarden beperkt de rechten die je als consument volgens de wet hebt.
Schrijf naar [email protected]. We antwoorden binnen vijf werkdagen. Komen we er samen niet uit, dan kun je terecht bij de Consumentenombudsdienst op consumentenombudsdienst.be.
Het Belgisch recht is van toepassing. Woon je in een ander EU-land, dan behoud je de bescherming die het recht van jouw land je geeft.

De rechtsgronden zijn de overeenkomst met jou (leveren wat je kocht), onze wettelijke plichten (boekhouding) en, voor het meten van advertenties, jouw toestemming.
Sommige van deze bedrijven zijn gevestigd in de Verenigde Staten. Waar jouw gegevens de EU verlaten, worden ze beschermd door de standaardcontractbepalingen van de EU of het EU-VS-gegevensprivacykader.
Je kunt op elk moment vragen om jouw gegevens in te zien, te verbeteren, te downloaden of te wissen, bezwaar maken tegen hoe we ze gebruiken, of jouw toestemming intrekken. Ben je niet tevreden over hoe we met jouw gegevens omgaan, dan kun je een klacht indienen bij de Belgische Gegevensbeschermingsautoriteit via gegevensbeschermingsautoriteit.be.
